Sustainable lumber minus the nasty deforestation!

Goodbye deforestation, hello bonsai! These trees are carefully pruned to produce perfectly straight timber that can be harvested again and again without killing trees!

Daisugi is a 14th century growing method that uses Japanese bonsai techniques to allow trees to provide wood repeatedly without dwindling natural resources.

Cedar trees can be pruned to produce up to 100 shoots at a time and will continue growing for 300 years until their foundation gets worn. Even after that, these trees continue to live on and support forest biodiversity!

15 BILLION trees are cut down every year in forests around the world. We could use a little more Daisugi in our lives!
